Sunday School

[“…Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it….” Prov.22 :6

“We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. ” (Psalms 78:4) NKJV.

At India Pentecostal Church Of Seattle, it is our fundamental responsibility to teach the young generation and to train them up in the way of the Word of the Lord according to Solomon. Our Sunday School is a vital and essential part of our ministry. The word of God is imparted to our children through our Sunday School so that they will be firmly established in the foundation of Jesus Christ, grow spiritually pleasing to the Lord, and become useful instruments in His hands.

Being a teacher requires many skills such as dedication, patience, and a thirst to train our youths for the world today. The children are taught by committed teachers who faithfully contribute their time and dedication to carry on the duties entrusted to them to the best of their abilities. The time that they have spent and the effort that they put forth should be applauded.

Every Sunday morning before the classes start, all the teachers gather together to pray for the blessing of the students and for the classes. Offering is collected every Sunday from the students to encourage them to practice in giving to the Lord. The classes are grouped by age, ranging from the age of 4 years old to young adults. Sunday School begins at 10.00 A.M. and runs up to 10.30 A.M. Children are encouraged to participate in different activities such as singing songs, reciting memory verses, telling short stories, and so on in other ways that helps them to reiterate the lessons that their teachers have instructed them in the classroom.

As Solomon states in Proverbs 1:8, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” It is our desire, our passion, and our hope that our children grow up in the fear of the Lord, and that they are a living testimony to their generation. We give all the glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ who has helped us in making our Sunday school successful over the years. Paul says in II Timothy 3:15, “And that from childhood you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” Our earnest prayer is that our children grow more in the Spirit and in the Word of God, so that they may be able to fulfill the last commandment of Christ and spread the Word to the world around them.
